Environment
At Scottish Mountain Bike Guides we are committed to sustainable, responsible tourism.
We are passionate about Scotland’s wild places, and aim to pass this on to our clients. It is a pleasure to enable our clients to experience Scotland’s wonderful scenery, wildlife and history. We believe we must do this in a responsible manner which conserves the natural environment. For this reason, all our wilderness holidays are limited to small groups of six or fewer clients, as this minimises the effect of our passing through, and also the impact on other groups or individuals who may wish to enjoy the environment.
All our business activities are carried out in a manner which minimises our environmental impact. For example, the start and finish points for the majority of our trips are easily accessed by public transport, and we produce a minimum of paper based promotional material. We try to minimise the use of energy and resources wherever possible both in our office activities and in the process of running our trips.
As well as minimising our use of resources, we are committed to offsetting all carbon emissions generated by the business. We encourage our clients to consider doing this as well.
Scotland is world renowned for its friendliness and hospitality. As such, local communities and local businesses play an integral part in all our holidays. In this way we aim to promote local economies through all our activities.
